You need to be 14 to start your Bronze DofE, you need to be at least 14½ to finish it.

The Award comprises:

      Volunteering: 3 months

      Physical: 3 months

      Skill: 3 months

      Expedition: planning, training for and complete a 2 day, 1 night expedition

Plus one of either the Volunteering, Physical or Skill sections must be continued for a further 3 months.
ie out of these three sections you choose to do one for 6 months and the other two sections for 3 months.

Chief Scout's Platinum Award

In addition to achieving your Bronze DofE, all you need to do to also get your Platinum Award is:

1) Be a member of Explorer Scouts for at least six months.

2) Complete six nights away as an Explorer Scout of which four must be camping.

3) Complete two activities from the International, Environment and Values list. The two activities should come from different areas.
