DofE or the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme is for anyone aged between 14 and 24. The 3 levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold - also correspond to the Scout Platinum, Diamond and Queen's Scout awards, allowing you to effectively get two awards in one go.
The 3 levels of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award all have 4 elements in common:
Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community
Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities
Skills: developing practical and social skills and personal interests
Expedition: planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad
In addition the Gold DofE award also includes Residential: staying and working away from home doing a shared activity.
There is no particular maximum time limit set for completing your DofE programme. However there are set minimum periods of participation required:
