Ten Tors takes place on Dartmoor. On a fine day Dartmoor can be very pleasant, on a bad day it has the potential to be fairly inhospitable (though still wonderful!). For this reason it is essential that all the Explorer Scouts that we send out onto Dartmoor are appropriately kitted out. It is much easier to remain energetic and cheerful if you have kept yourself warm and dry, much less so if you have allowed yourself to become cold and wet.

Take a look at the kit list below. This is the equipment that the scrutineers at Ten Tors will demand that you have before allowing you to participate in the event.
It is worth getting good kit since, properly cared for, it may last you a lifetime. However we do not expect you to spend a fortune, nor to buy the most expensive of everything. Speak to one of the leaders (Colin in particular) before a major outlay if you are unsure. Please remember that a lot of equipment can also be borrowed very cheaply from the County Council's Youth Equipment Store.

Group kit (tents, stoves, team first aid kit etc) will be supplied for you.

The following is taken from FTT7, the Ten Tors official kit list. Do check for any updated versions before the event on the Ten Tors website.
